How do I invite?

Here are a few examples of ways of inviting. You can cut and paste, or make them your own. We hope that they help you with a bit of a roadmap.

Remember, Alpha is a place for people you care about to explore Jesus for themselves.

We’re not going to pressure or force anything. We’re going to prompt conversations and create space for connection.

EXAMPLE 2

Do you want to come with me on a Tuesday night to something called Alpha? There will be dessert and some great people. We’re going to watch a short film about life’s purpose and then discuss it. April 21 at 7:30.

Or

Do you want to come with me on a Tuesday night to something called Alpha? There will be dessert and some great people. We’re going to watch a short film around one of life’s big questions and then discuss it. April 21 at 7:30.

Or

Do you want to come with me on a Tuesday night to something called Alpha? We’re going to discuss faith, Jesus and spirituality with people from a bunch of different backgrounds and beliefs. April 21 at 7:30.

EXAMPLE 1

Hey ( ), what are you up to on Tuesday nights? I’m part of something called Alpha and I thought you might be interested.

We’re trying to make space for people to ask and discuss big questions about faith without pressure or feeling like you have to give the same answers. Would you want to come with me to check it out?

If they say no, don’t be afraid to consider asking why, understanding why may help you to approach it better in the future or even solve the problem now.
